  • Eugene Chia

    Eugene Chia joined Singapore Swimming Club in December 2021.

    Designation: Head Coach and Coach for Elite A Squad

    Education: Graduate Diploma in Sports Coaching (University of Queensland)

    Certification(s): National Registry of Coaches (Level 3)

    Experience: Over 16 years of coaching experience at various periods in places such as the Singapore Swimming Association, Singapore Sports School, and other swimming clubs.

    Coach Eugene has coached in various swim clubs and at Singapore Swimming Association and Singapore Sports School for more than 16 years.

    He has coached swimmers who have broken national and regional records, and won gold medals at the Southeast Asian Games. Swimmers under his tutelage have also qualified for the Youth Olympics, Asian Games, and World Championships.

    Experience: 6 years of coaching experience across different levels and proficiencies at swimming clubs

    Coach Jeremy Kevin Mathews is a former competitive swimmer who held national records in the 200m Individual Medley and 400m Freestyle events. Jeremy is a Southeast Asian (SEA) Games medallist who has won multiple medals at the 2011 Games in Palembang, Indonesia, including a Gold medal for the 4x200m Freestyle Relay.

    Coach Crystal Wang has mentored numerous ranked medallists, MVPs, and record-holders in the Singapore National School Games, Singapore National Age Group Swimming Championship, Junior Inter-Club Swimming Championship, and Open Midget Swimming Meet.

    Experience: Over 10 years of coaching experience in Malaysia and Singapore.

    Coach Arthur Chan started his coaching career with the Kuching Amateur Swimming Association (KASA) in 2012. He has been on the coaching staff for Sarawak state swimming team for the 2016 SUKMA Malaysia Games. And has also been the head coach of the Sarawak Swimming team at the Malaysia Invitational Age Group Swimming Championships.

    As an ex-competitive swimmer and now lifestyle swimmer, health coach, nutritionist, and physical trainer, my coaching philosophy is to facilitate and create a safe, open environment for students to learn and practice proper swimming techniques and mechanics, so they can integrate swimming into their lifestyle and enjoy it for as long as they live without injury.

    Eseel was a former Sarawak state competitive swimmer and a swimmer for the Malaysian National University at the ASEAN University Games. With her experience in coaching and nurturing swimmers from the age of two and from learn-to-swim squads and competitive squads of the Junior SNAG, she is an invaluable addition to our coaching staff.

    Qualifications: Bronze Medallion, AUSTSWIM license (Teacher of swimming and water safety)

    Nicoy has over 5 years of swimming teaching experience. Through her experience teaching infant/toddler swimming as well as young swimmers from 3 years old, she has helped many build their confidence and love for swimming.
