NOTICE TO MEMBERS The latest F&B Menu Price increase is to cut down operating deficit – not to increase profits!
Dear Club Members,
Since mid-September 2008 we have, via the various channels of communication, been preparing Members for the impending price increase at our F&B outlets due to take effect from 1 October 2008.
Since the implementation of the price revision, many Members have expressed their support and understanding, and accepted our explanation for the price increase. But there are also a number of members who felt that the increase was too “drastic”. We would like to take this opportunity to spell out the reasons behind this measure taken by the Club.
Corrigendum on Sports Ad Hoc Committees The following changes were not reflected in the latest October-November 08 issue of Splash (page 5)
* Kunal Sahney has joined the Billiards Ad Hoc Committee. Rajesh Khurana is not on the Committee.
* Larree Chong Wah Tack is the new addition on the Bowling Ad Hoc Committee.
We apologise for that!
IMPLEMENTATION OF PARTICIPATION FEE FOR SWIMMING MEETS With effect from 1 October 2008
As proposed by the Swimming Sub-Committee and approved by the Management Committee, the S$10.00 Participation Fee is payable per swimming meet per swimmer which will replace the current Annual Competition Fee which is being charged yearly in the month of October. (This Fee is in addition to the Registration Fee or any other Fees payable by non-SSC Registered Swimmers.)
As a gesture of appreciation to parent(s) whom volunteer his or her valuable time and service for the meet, the Participation Fee for the swimmer(s) in that Meet will be waived. This is regardless of the number of swimmers participating in the Meet.
In the event a Role in the Meet has more volunteers than the number of positions required, it will be based on a first-come-first-served basis using the ‘date and time’ stamp as proof of form received. In an ‘over-subscribed’ situation, the parent(s) will be requested to consider another role in the Meet. Should the parent(s) declines, the Participation Fee will be then charged.
The Participation Fee collected may be utilized to engage resources to help the Swimming Department in running of the Meet and/or to provide for swimmers’ accessories/kits where appropriate for the said Meet.
Beginners and Learners Swimming Meets will be excluded from the Participation Fee.
We seek your kind understanding and continuous support in our Swimming Programme.
